Product Care & Safety Guidelines
At Kandie’s Scents, LLC, your experience means everything to us — and so does your safety. To get the most out of your handcrafted candles, room sprays, and wax melts, please follow the recommended care and safety guidelines below.
These simple steps will help you enjoy each product longer, keep your home safe, and ensure your scents perform at their very best.
🕯️ Candle Care Tips
-
For the first burn, allow your candle to burn for 3–4 hours until the wax melts evenly across the surface. This helps prevent tunneling.
-
Trim the wick to 1/4” before each use to avoid black smoke, promote a clean burn, and maintain a steady flame.
-
Keep the melt pool free of debris like matches or trimmed wick pieces.
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
-
Always keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
-
Avoid burning longer than 3–4 hours at a time to prevent overheating or container damage.
-
Place candles on a heat-resistant, stable surface, away from flammable objects (like curtains, papers, books, or furniture).
-
Discontinue use when 1/4” of wax remains. If the flame nears the bottom or the wick tab, extinguish immediately to prevent the container from cracking.
-
Store your candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or humidity to protect the wax.
-
Keep candles away from drafts to improve burn time and reduce uneven flames or excessive smoke.
-
For maximum scent throw, burn in an enclosed room with windows and doors closed for 30 minutes, then re-enter.
-
Avoid burning multiple candles in small, poorly ventilated spaces.
-
Allow candles to cool completely before moving or relighting.
-
Always extinguish candles before going to sleep or leaving home.
-
Replace the candle cap after cooling to preserve the cold throw and prevent dust buildup, which can be a fire hazard.
💨 Room Spray Safety & Use
-
Shake well before each use for best fragrance distribution.
-
Spray into the center of the room, away from your face, eyes, and electronics.
-
When using on fabrics or linens, hold the bottle 8–10 inches away and spray lightly.
-
Not intended for use as a body spray.
-
Keep away from children and pets.
-
Patch test on fabric in a small area first to check for discoloration.
-
Do not ingest. Do not eat, drink, or inhale directly.
🕯️ Wax Melt Safety & Usage
-
Remove all packaging before use.
-
For smaller warmers, use 1 wax melt; for larger burners, 2 melts are ideal.
-
Do not overfill your wax warmer. Only use products designed specifically for wax melt use.
-
Keep away from children, pets, and flammable items.
-
Avoid direct contact with fabrics — wax contains dyes and may stain when melted.
-
Always place warmers on a heat-safe, stable surface.
-
Never leave a wax warmer unattended while in use.
-
When the scent has faded, it’s time to replace the melt. Do not pour melted wax down the drain.
-
Allow wax to cool and solidify before cleaning and adding new melts.
